Make cohesive teamwork your organisation’s own capability.
Teamwork remains the ultimate competitive advantage. When your own HR or L&D people are certified to deliver The Five Behaviors, you can build high-performing teams whenever you need to. Every team you develop after that costs you profiles, not facilitator fees.
HR leads team development from the front
Your team becomes the go-to resource for trust, healthy conflict and accountability, responding the week a team needs it, not when an external diary allows.
One shared language for how teams work
Built on Patrick Lencioni’s work, The Five Behaviors gives every team one model (trust, conflict, commitment, accountability, results) and a common language that outlasts any single workshop.
What certification enables
Certification is a long-term organisational asset, not a course.
The model you’ll master
Developed with Patrick Lencioni and based on his best-seller The Five Dysfunctions of a Team, The Five Behaviors is a pyramid: each behaviour the foundation for the next.
The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team model
Trust
Vulnerability-based trust: team members are comfortable being open with one another.
Conflict
With trust in place, teams engage in unfiltered, productive conflict around ideas.
Commitment
Healthy debate lets the team commit to clear decisions, even without full consensus.
Accountability
Committed teams hold one another accountable to those decisions and standards.
Results
With the first four in place, the team focuses on collective results over individual ego.
The Five Behaviors is based on Patrick Lencioni’s New York Times best-seller, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team. It is the model every certified practitioner learns to bring to life.
Two solutions, one certification
Certified practitioners deliver the full Five Behaviors portfolio, choosing the solution that fits each group.
Team Development
For intact teams of 5–12
- Best for an intact team that has worked together for six weeks or more
- Built on the Everything DiSC® model to personalise the experience
- Assesses the team’s collective trust, conflict, commitment, accountability and results
- Actionable insights to improve how the team works together
Personal Development
For individuals & cross-functional groups
- Best for individuals across different teams, or groups of up to 20
- Teaches the principles of cohesive teamwork at an individual level
- Builds skills people carry into every team they join
- Ideal for scaling a teamwork culture across the organisation
Team Development is powered by Everything DiSC®. As an authorised partner for both, I’ll help you choose where to start and how they work together.
The model, in practice: leading a senior leadership team through The Five Behaviors, the Trust-to-Results pyramid up on the screens.

David O’Grady
MCIPD, ACC · Authorised Wiley Partner · Five Behaviors & Everything DiSC
David O’Grady, executive and team coach in Ireland, helps new teams form faster.
Before becoming a partner myself, I was on the inside. At HubSpot I took Everything DiSC from sporadic use to an enterprise operating model, and facilitated The Five Behaviors with senior leadership teams. I know what it takes for certification to pay off after the course ends, because I’ve been the one accountable for whether it did.
As your partner, I support you before, during and after certification: preparing you for your cohort, choosing the right facilitation kit, mentoring your first deliveries, and helping you embed cohesive-team thinking into how your organisation develops people.
How does the certification work?
It is a two-week Wiley virtual programme: five self-paced modules, four live virtual sessions, an application project and a final exam. Here is the path from first conversation to in-house delivery.
Discovery call
A 30-minute conversation about your context, your goals, and whether certification is the right fit. No obligation.
Choose cohort & kit
I’ll match you to a Wiley virtual cohort that fits your diary and time zone, set up your facilitation kit, and prepare you for the programme.
Two-week certification
Five self-paced modules, four live virtual sessions and an application project, finishing with the exam and your Five Behaviors Certified Practitioner credential.
First delivery & rollout
Mentoring into your first sessions, EPIC administration set up, and ongoing profile supply as your internal use grows.
How much does Five Behaviors certification cost?
Certification is €3,495 (excl. VAT) for your first practitioner, including the facilitation kit, and €2,495 for each additional practitioner. Wiley runs the official programme. I support you as a partner before, during and after, so the credential turns into real internal capability.

What you need to know
What does The Five Behaviors Certification involve? +
It is the official Wiley programme: a two-week, virtual blended learning experience of around 20 hours. You complete five self-paced online modules, attend four live two-hour virtual classroom sessions, present an application project for feedback, and take a final exam (an 80% pass mark is required). On passing you earn The Five Behaviors Certified Practitioner credential and are equipped to deliver both the Team Development and Personal Development solutions.
What is the Five Behaviors Certified Practitioner credential, and is it accredited? +
The Five Behaviors Certified Practitioner is the official Wiley credential that qualifies HR, L&D and coaching professionals to facilitate the Team Development and Personal Development programmes. The course is recognised for continuing professional development: 20 SHRM PDCs, 20 HRCI credits, 20 ATD credits and ICF Continuing Coach Education (CCE).
Who is certification suitable for? +
HR, L&D, OD and Talent professionals who want to build and deliver The Five Behaviors inside their organisation, and independent coaches, trainers and facilitators who want to add it to their practice. Facilitation experience helps but is not required. The programme builds your confidence with feedback from peers in a supportive environment.
When do the next certification cohorts run? +
Wiley opens a new live virtual cohort roughly every two weeks, with session times that suit Irish, UK, European and US time zones. The next confirmed cohorts are listed on this page. Tell me your timeframe through the enquiry form and I'll match you to the right one.
Do I need a facilitation kit to certify? +
Yes. The Five Behaviors Certification requires you to own a Five Behaviors facilitation kit (Team Development or Personal Development) as its materials are used throughout the course. Only one kit is needed per organisation, regardless of how many people you certify. As your partner, I supply the kit and advise on which one fits your goals.
Do I need to be certified to use The Five Behaviors? +
No. As an authorised partner I can deliver Five Behaviors team sessions and debriefs for you without you certifying anyone. Certification is the right step when you want the capability in-house, so your own people can run The Five Behaviors across the organisation, with profiles as your main ongoing cost.
How does The Five Behaviors relate to Everything DiSC? +
The Five Behaviors is built on Patrick Lencioni's model from The Five Dysfunctions of a Team, and its Team Development solution uses the Everything DiSC model to personalise the experience. They are complementary: DiSC builds individual self-awareness and a shared language, while The Five Behaviors applies that to how a whole team builds trust, manages conflict, commits, holds each other accountable and delivers results. As an authorised partner for both, I'll help you choose the right starting point.
How much does The Five Behaviors Certification cost? +
Certification is €3,495 for your first practitioner, which includes the official Wiley certification seat and the one-off Five Behaviors facilitation kit. Because only one kit is needed per organisation, each additional practitioner is €2,495. Prices exclude VAT; US organisations are invoiced in USD ($3,995 / $2,795). After certification your main ongoing cost is profiles on the EPIC platform, supplied at partner rates. Use the enquiry form and I’ll confirm your cohort and send a written quote.
What support do I get before, during and after certification? +
Before: a preparation call to set you up, choose your facilitation kit and align certification with how your organisation will use The Five Behaviors. During: I'm available for questions throughout your cohort. After: mentoring into your first deliveries, help setting up your EPIC assessment administration, and ongoing profile supply and advice as your internal use grows.
Ready to bring The Five Behaviors in-house?
Whether you’re exploring certification for yourself or considering a team programme, I’d welcome a conversation. We can talk through your context, answer your questions, and find the right cohort.
