The partner behind HR
Who delivers Everything DiSC and Insights Discovery in Ireland?
David O'Grady Coaching is an Authorised Insights Discovery Partner and an Everything DiSC Authorised Partner with Wiley, based in Athlone, Ireland. I work with organisations across Ireland and the US, virtually and on-site. I also deliver The Five Behaviors, Wiley's team programme. David O'Grady, executive and team coach in Ireland, helps new teams form faster.
Offering both tools matters. You get the right tool for your situation, not whichever tool a provider happens to carry. Most of my work is with HR Directors, Heads of People, and Talent and OD leads in organisations of 200 to 2,000 staff.
You know this moment
“Can you do something for them?”
A reorg is announced. Two teams become one. Or the company grows fast and a brand-new team has to gel by the end of the quarter. The exec team turns to you.
Teams don't form themselves. Someone forms them. The quiet word with the new director. The session you argued for. The profiles you ordered, the facilitator you briefed, the follow-up you chased. In organisations of 200 to 2,000 staff, that someone is usually you.
And every time, it starts from zero. Find a provider. Explain the culture. Pick a tool. Get it through procurement. By the time the workshop lands, the team has already set its habits, good or bad.
Forming is the window that matters. Teams set their patterns early, then repeat them. My job is to help you catch that window every time it opens.
There's a simpler way to do this. One partner who already knows the building.
How we work together
Three ways we can work together
Most partnerships end up as a blend of all three. We usually start with one piece of work and grow from there.
01
You want a team session delivered for you
Team workshops, off-site sessions and profile debriefs, designed and run by me. You bring the team and the goal. I bring the design, the materials and the room.
Where it leads: a team with a shared language within weeks, without adding a single project to your own plate.
Everything DiSC certification, Insights Discovery accreditation and Five Behaviours certification for your HR and L&D team. The capability moves in-house and stays there.
Where it leads: you stop booking outside facilitators for routine sessions, and you keep me for the complex ones.
One honest note on scope. My work helps new teams form well. It does not make a team perform. That part stays with the team and its leader. Forming faster simply means they get to the real work sooner.
One partner, both tools
DiSC or Insights: which should you use?
It depends on the team and the job you need the tool to do. I'm an Authorised Partner for both, so I can put both on the table and help you choose on merit. Sometimes DiSC is the better fit. Sometimes Insights is. Sometimes you've inherited one and the smart move is to build on what your people already know.
Everything DiSC®
The workplace behavioural model on the Catalyst™ platform. Clear, practical and easy for busy teams to keep using after the workshop ends.
The four colour energies, loved for the depth of its personal profile. The Insights for Microsoft Teams app is included with Insights Discovery profiles at no extra cost.
No two years are the same. Here's the shape of one, told through the moments every People leader will recognise.
January
A restructure merges two functions. You call me early, while it's still a plan. Team sessions are in the diary for week two of the new structure.
March
A new director joins. They get a profile debrief in their first fortnight and a session with their team in their first month. The team forms around its new leader, not around the rumour mill.
May
Your leadership programme kicks off. The behavioural language your teams already speak runs right through it. Nothing has to be retaught.
July
Holidays. Nothing on. That's fine. A partnership is there when you need it, not a meeting you have to feed.
September
The graduate intake arrives. Profiles are part of how they land, and by now your own certified people are running those sessions themselves.
November
Your team delivers its first fully in-house team session. I review the design with them beforehand and stay on the end of the phone.
December
We look back at the year. The teams that formed faster. The capability that now lives in your building. Then we plan the next one.
After a few pieces of work, I know your teams, your language and your context. Every engagement starts at step three instead of step one. You built that.

Team training, delivered
David led StrengthsFinder training for my direct team and peer group, and his approach was both engaging and impactful. From preparation to follow-up, he provided just the right amount of context and pre-work—enough to spark interest and meaningful engagement without feeling like a routine task.
Where David truly stands out is in live sessions (including virtual ones), where he brings the material to life in a way that fosters deeper connections among team members. His ability to facilitate thoughtful, natural discussions creates an environment where participants gain new perspectives and a stronger understanding of one another.
I highly recommend David for any team working closely on projects, particularly global teams or leadership groups that need to collaborate and challenge each other effectively.
Ciara OrmsbyDirector, People Partnerships, HubSpotInsights Discovery workshop
I was looking for a good Insights Facilitator for a number of months and was delighted to have found David and the fact he was local to us was even better.
Was a great presenter and the team got great value for our time with him.
Great day sharing our experiences with the colours etc and David guided the workshop at the right pace and examples.
Would recommend and we will be using David again.
Dave ShermanGM, Direct Medical - Vivisol IrelandPeople & OD team off-site
We invited David O’Grady to facilitate a CliftonStrengths workshop for our Global People & Organisational Development team off-site in Galway.
The session gave us practical insight into how our individual strengths show up — not just within the team, but also in how we collaborate with key stakeholders across the business. David’s facilitation was clear, engaging, and directly relevant to how we work. Feedback from the group was overwhelmingly positive.
As an HR professional, I really valued how David brought the StrengthsFinder framework to life in a way that deepened self-awareness, strengthened team connection, and supported more effective cross-functional collaboration. I’d highly recommend him to any HR or Talent Leader looking to integrate strengths-based development into their L&D strategy or leadership programmes.
Elaine McMahonSnr Business Partner, People & Organisational Development, AerogenCertification support
I came across DiSC through someone in my network. I’d used MBTI and Insights before, but DiSC stood out for its simplicity and how easy it is to apply in a practical, ongoing way. It’s not one of those tools you complete and forget about a week later, it’s something you can genuinely use day to day at work.
While it doesn’t necessarily tell you anything completely new, it highlights your preferences in a really clear way and helps you understand how to adapt and stretch yourself, both professionally and personally.
David has been a great support throughout. From the start when I was considering certification, he gave me the confidence that it was the right move for me. Since then, he’s always been available, no question ever feels like too much, and his advice has been invaluable. Before my first workshop, he took the time to review my material and share feedback, which made a big difference. I went in feeling confident, and actually excited rather than nervous.
If you’re thinking about becoming a DiSC practitioner, I’d highly recommend David as a partner.

Who you'd be working with
Before I was a partner, I was the buyer
For twenty years I worked in corporate HR, at companies like 3M and HubSpot, building leadership development and talent programmes from the inside. At 3M I took Insights Discovery® from sporadic use to an enterprise operating model. At HubSpot I did the same with Everything DiSC®. I built the licence, facilitation and integration models for tools the business already owned, before becoming a partner myself.
Today I run the only practice in Ireland partnered in both Everything DiSC® and Insights Discovery®. I'm a Chartered Member of the CIPD and an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation, based in Athlone, between Galway and Dublin. More about me
A programme for HR professionals who want to coach, not just administrate. I'm shaping it at the moment, and I'd rather build it with you than for you. No dates, no price, no promises yet. Join the list and tell me what you'd want it to be.
This is the waiting list for the programme, not the newsletter. If you're after the newsletter instead, sign up at the HR as Coach Newsletter page.
